“Writing the Rhythms of Nature” with Heidi Greco
Saturday, Mar 2nd, 1:30pm – 3:30pm, South Surrey Rec. & Arts Centre
This workshop will complement Barbara Cooper’s photographic exhibit “Four Seasons at the Fen.” We’ll consider elements that characterize the transition of seasons, with a focus on those changes throughout the year which we experience here on the Peninsula.
In addition, we’ll explore some poetic forms that may provide new approaches to writing about the world around us. Then, taking inspiration from the photos in Cooper’s exhibition, the plan is to create poems (even prose poems) that are based in the imagery offered by nature.
No experience is necessary – only an open mind, a spirit of play, and a willingness to experiment.
Pre-registration is encouraged to ensure that there are adequate supplies for all participants (maximum of 30 to be enrolled).
