Proposed Performing Arts Centre (Oct. 22)

A public meeting is being held on a proposed Performing Arts Centre and Contemporary Arts Cafe & Gallery. The new centre, proposed as part of a residential tower development planned for 152nd Street at 19th Ave, may be able to help create a cultural hub in South Surrey.

The public meeting is a drop-in format and will last from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm on Tuesday October 22nd at the Rotary Field House, 14600 Rotary way. There will be two presentations being given by the architect Patrick Cotter, at 5 pm and 7 pm.

The new proposed centre would total 22,000 sq. ft. and include a performing arts component with a proscenium theatre, studio theatre and rehearsall hall and dressing rooms as well as offices and support spaces. The second component to this proposal, the contemporary arts centre, will cover a total space of 6,900 sq. ft. and include a cafe connected to a gallery and exhibit spaces.
