As September rolls around it often feels that everything begins to pick up, and its no different for our community arts groups. September is starting out with some great opportunities and we’d like to take a few minutes to let everyone know of important dates. Below you will find out about upcoming deadlines for funding as well as an opportunity to learn more about preparing for grant applications. Please take a few minutes to review these opportunities. Grant Deadlines for Community Arts Groups

Surrey Cultural Grant: Expression of Interest Letters

The vision of the Cultural Grants Program is to support and enhance arts and heritage in Surrey through:

  • building organizational capability and sustainability in existing and new local cultural organizations;
  • investing in community-based cultural activities that promote awareness, access, participation and appreciation of arts and heritage; and
  • encouraging collaborative opportunities and partnerships.

Grants are awarded in three categories:

  • Capacity Building
  • Start Up
  • Project

Deadline for expression of interest letters is September 23, 2013

BC Arts Council Basic Assistance Grant (for Arts Councils)

Community Arts Councils operating awards are made once each fiscal year for the future year’s activities. Assistance is available to Community Arts Councils in British Columbia that: provide access to a range of artistic and cultural activities, develop and encourage leadership for arts and culture at the community level, and encourage support for arts and culture from local and regional governments.

Deadline for applications is September 30, 2013

The Metro Vancouver Regional Culture Sub-Committee presents Getting Your Funding Ducks in a Row.

Whether you are new to the game or a grant writing veteran the question is always “How do you get a funder to support you?” In this session you will learn about  the critical elements for a successful application and the value of building relationships with funders.
