Suitable for beginner to intermediate watercolour painters.
Some of the most beautiful aspects of watercolour paintings happen when the paint is allowed to do its thing.
When we are disappointed with the results, it is often because we are trying to make watercolour do something it can’t. Join Ian de Hoog and discover how brush, paint and paper selection play a role in setting you on a path to success. While creating paintings of a variety of subject matter, Ian will explain how these factors affect the planning and execution of what it is you are trying to paint. Wash techniques, brushwork, building value and the all-important topic of timing will be covered.
The course will comprise of four sections:
-Scene selection/sketching & drawing
-Portrait (probably a bird)
After each instructional period, students will be given time to explore the demonstrated techniques on their own while Ian is available to offer individual assistance.
