The 2020 Calendar models have agreed to participate in a Figure Drawing Event for 180 guests (both artists and those simply curious to try their hand at drawing the famous firefighters) at Heritage Hall, 3102 Main St, from 6:30 p.m. – 11:00 p.m. The firefighters, dressed in bikini briefs, will be positioned on small stages throughout the venue. Six firefighters will pose for one half hour and then take a half hour break, spelling each other off with six additional firefighters taking their turn within the venue, totalling 2 hours during the event. Guests will be seated closely around the models to sketch. Six professional artists will also be positioned with easels to sketch, and will be available for guests to watch at any point during the evening. Federation of Canadian Artists: The Federation of Canadian Artists, a registered non-profit, is Canada’s largest national service organization for visual artists that was launched by members of the Group of Seven and Emily Carr in 1941. Based in Vancouver, the Federation features a large art gallery on Granville Island where it hosts 24 exhibitions per year. Its membership spans across Canada and internationally. More information: www.artists.ca Hall of Flame Calendar Models: Physically fit members of the Vancouver firefighters humbly model for the Hall of Flame calendar, a very successful promotional vehicle that continues to grow in sales every year to raise funds for an extremely worthy cause: The Vancouver Burn Unit. The Burn Unit funds hospital equipment and surgeries for men, women and children who have been badly burned in motor vehicle accidents and residential fires.
