Double Exposure creates a platform for dialogue between photography and poetry. This exhibition/competition showcases the talent of our community in these 2 mediums. The purpose: To showcase local photography and create ekphrastic poetry. FYI: An ekphrastic poem is a vivid description of a scene or, more commonly, a work of art. Through the imaginative act of narrating and reflecting on the “action” of a painting or sculpture, the poet may amplify and expand its meaning. There are 2 ways to get involved: 1. Lobby Showcase: This space is ideal for displaying sculptural pieces, pottery, textiles, small paintings, etc. Front Display Window: This space is ideal for displaying sculptural pieces, pottery, textiles, large paintings, etc. Items may be for sale and Semiahmoo Arts retains 20% commission on all sold items. Call for Submissions: The City of White Rock in partnership with Semiahmoo Arts is currently accepting submissions to The Love Show: Portraits of Passion as part of the Art on Display program. All artists are invited to submit a maximum of three portraits of people or animals they adore in celebration of Valentine’s Day. All mediums are welcome.
