The City of White Rock in partnership with Semiahmoo Arts is currently accepting submissions to The Pier Art Exhibition as part of the Art on Display program. All artists are invited to submit a maximum of three works of art that explore The Pier. As the City of White Rock is celebrating its 60th Anniversary in April, we would like to display local artist’s works which embody one of the cities’ most iconic landmarks. Through the powerful use of colour, light and intriguing compositions, artists will revel in the past, present and future of, “The Pier”. Mixed Media, Painting, Photography, and other 2-d mediums are accepted. Size restriction: Each artwork can be no larger than 24’x36” including frame.
The exhibition runs from March 16 – April 30, 2017 and the opening reception will be held on Thursday, March 16 – 6:00 – 7:30 pm at the White Rock Community Centre.
Applications must be submitted to Semiahmoo Arts:
- Complete the application form below OR Register in Person at the Semiahmoo Arts Office at 14601-20 Ave, V4A 9P5, Surrey, BC.
- $10 Entry fee for each piece submitted. A maximum of three pieces per artists. See PayPal below OR Cash or cheque accepted in the Semiahmoo Arts Office. (Cheques must be made payable to Semiahmoo Arts.)
Deadline for Application Submission: Monday, March 6 – 6:00pm
Artwork must be delivered to the White Rock Community Centre on Saturday, March 11 between 9:00am and 1:00pm. Art work not accepted to the exhibition must be picked up by Tuesday March 14. All artists needing to pick up their art work will be contacted.
There will be cash awards for this exhibition. First prize will receive $50, second prize will receive $30 and third prize will be awards $20.
-Semiahmoo Arts and The City of White Rock will take the utmost care in handling the work but cannot be responsible for loss or damage.

In a series of seven themed juried exhibitions held throughout the year, Art on Display showcases work in a variety of media by British Columbian artists.
