Elena Perelman: Alice in Wonderland

Elena Perelman was born and raised in St. Petersburg, a cultural capital of Russia. She attended the Surkoff Art School from 2005-2009. In 2009, when Elena moved to Canada she opened her art studio, RUSART Fine Arts, where she has been teaching art to children and adults. The Alice in Wonderland series dives into a fantasy dream world. In this acrylic paint series, Alice in constantly changing and adapting to the characters she encounters. Along her adventure she meets the Blue Caterpillar, the Dodo Bird, and of course, the Queen of Hearts. Zero – 360, Literary Open Mic   is a collaboration of emerging and experienced writers who each share up to six minutes of poetry, short stories, chapters of novels in progress, memoirs or song lyrics. Sign up opens at 7:00pm. Readings begin at 7:30pm. Zero to 360, our long-running Open Mic series is back, but this year, with a change of venue. Personal Public: Surrey Teen Visual Arts Scholarship Program Exhibit

In Arts Umbrella’s South Surrey Teen Visual Arts Scholarship Program, lead instructor Jason Wright has been teaching students what it takes to succeed in the visual arts world through mentorship and exploration. The students have worked with a series of guest artists bringing their techniques and ideas of art making to the class, enriching their contemporary art practice. Join us for the celebration of their work and achievements in this program! Opening hours of exhibition: May 28th to May 31st, 1pm to 6pm June 1st & June 2nd, 10am to 6pm June 3rd 3pm to 6pm (Closing Reception)
