Zero – 360, Literary Open Mic is a collaboration of emerging and experienced writers who each share up to six minutes of poetry, short stories, chapters of novels in progress, memoirs or song lyrics.
Sign up opens at 7:00pm. Readings begin at 7:30pm.
Zero to 360, our long-running Open Mic series is back, but this year, with a change of venue.
Now held in the South Surrey Recreation and Arts Centre, words will ring out in the beautiful Turnbull Gallery.
Snacks and beverages will be available from the Sources concession stand in the Centre, with service shutting down at 7:30.
As in the past, sign-up for the Open Mic starts at 7 pm, with the readings beginning at 7:30.
Except for April, when it’s an all-poetry night (for National Poetry Month), all genres are welcome – just so long as the presentations stay within that magical ‘360 second’ mark (6 minutes). If the timer rings while you’re reading, it can be embarrassing, so do a bit of practice before you come.
All are welcome – and remember, you don’t need to read to attend. Audience members are appreciated, especially when they’re appreciative listeners.
