Join us for the Opening Reception of Double Exposure!

This evening we will be celebrating the photographers of Double Exposure including the Digital Youth Photography Display  – as well as kicking-off the Poetry Challenge component of the event.

Double Exposure creates a platform for dialogue between photography and poetry. As part of Capture Photography Festival as well as Canada’s National Poetry Month – the purpose of the exhibition is to showcase local photography while forging poetry based on the exhibited photographs.

Double Exposure also generates opportunities for their connection and growth. Winning photographs in 5 categories will be appointed by  C.A.P.A  trained judges. There will be also be viewer’s choice award throughout the exhibition. The winners will be invited to showcase a larger body of work in an encore exhibition, Oct-Nov 2017.

All amateur and professional writers are invited to create poetry based on the photography exhibit in the Poetry Challenge. Submit your poetry between online by April 21st. Winning poems will be determined by writer and Surrey Treasure, Virginia Gillespie and by the author and co-ordinator of Surrey Muse, Fauzia Rafique. Awards are given out April 27th at our Awards Ceremony.
