A journey through mixed media and art journaling-a great workshop for the creative mind. So, what’s ekphrastic poetry? The word ‘ekphrasis’ comes from the Greek, and means description or interpretation. Join Surrey poet Heidi Greco for an afternoon of exploring some of the possible links between the visual arts and the art of words. This hands-on session will offer examples of ekphrastic work by established poets and encourage discussion towards understanding. There will also be prompts to get you writing and art to inspire you. Face & Figure painting – Drop-ins. Fridays, 10:00 am – Noon. Open to all.   Learn to paint the face and figure by dropping in to this 2 hour weekly Studio Session in Semiahmoo Arts Visual Arts room in the South Surrey Recreation & Arts Centre, 14601 20th Avenue, Surrey, V4A 9P5. Call for Mural Assistants Description: Semiahmoo Arts is seeking several students and artists from the White Rock area to work with lead coordinator and muralist Richard Tetrault on collaboratively designing and painting a mural. Workshops will take place in the Centennial Park Arts Space starting from mid-April, with a finished date of early May.
