A bold, contemporary artwork titled “Circulation” by Quebec artists Pierre Sasseville and Jean-François Cooke will enhance Surrey’s new Grandview Heights Aquatic Centre at the corner of 24 Avenue and 168 Street in South Surrey. Circulation is a monumental two-part sculpture of deer that references the dual purpose of the building: family-oriented recreation and professional competition.                     The sculpture facing 168 Street consists of a pair of pipes coming out of the ground that attaches to a faucet. Call for Artists (White Rock, BC) The City of White Rock in partnership with Semiahmoo Arts is currently accepting submissions to the My Culture exhibition which is part of the Art on Display program. All artists are invited to submit a maximum of three art pieces that showcase what culture means to them. This art show will examine intercultural expression in White Rock, BC. Paint the Town Call for Artists. Limited space available. On Saturday, August 29, participating artists will be spread out over various locations throughout White Rock and be given 3 hours to paint ‘en plein air’ in their location. The resulting works will then be exhibited until Sept. 7 in the Turnbull Gallery at Semiahmoo Arts.
